Social Venture Partners Seeks Los Angeles Nonprofits for the Social Innovation Fast Pitch Program
Social Venture Partners seeks Los Angeles-area Nonprofits for the 2014 Social Innovation Fast Pitch program. Apply by July 9 for your chance to participate.
Modeled on venture capital funding competitions, Fast Pitch helps organizations define their impact, powerfully communicate their vision, and raise more funds as a result.
In an effort to support social entrepreneurs tackling some of this city’s toughest problems, and to contribute to the innovative, vibrant culture in the Los Angeles area, Social Venture Partners has developed the annual “Social Innovation Fast Pitch” into a signature program.
The Social Innovation Fast Pitch is a free two-month training and mentoring program for innovative nonprofits that are effecting social change in Los Angeles County, culminating in the Fast Pitch competition in the fall.
Twenty non-profit leaders are selected to participate based on their innovative approaches to creating lasting social change and their potential for significant positive community impact. They receive training and mentoring over the course of two months from volunteer business professionals on how to succinctly and powerfully “tell their story” in the form of a 3-minute pitch.
The program culminates in a “Fast Pitch” competition – a high energy, rapid-fire presentation event during which ten finalists share the mission, vision and impact of their organization with the audience and judges – in just three minutes!
Fast Pitch finalists compete for $40,000 in grants and prizes.
The program culminates in a high-energy competition event designed to inspire and engage all of Los Angeles in the process of positive change in our community. Ten finalists share their organization’s mission, model, results, and their “ask” with an audience of hundreds of philanthropic, business, civic, and nonprofit leaders and a panel of high-profile judges. Grants will be awarded the night of the event, including a prize that is determined based on audience text voting.
