Pepperdine University MBA Program – New LAUNCH! Entrepreneur E-Magazine
Seven entrepreneur students and alumni are celebrated in the latest issue of LAUNCH! Magazine, the digital publication from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. The PDF E-magazine showcases business school students and graduates on a personal journey to succeed at business ownership. In many instances their startup ventures are a direct result of their regiment of Pepperdine MBA entrepreneurship courses.
LAUNCH! Magazine Issue Seven features Nathan Johnson (MBA ‘11) and Jake Wall (MBA ‘08) of San Francisco-based couturier Artful Gentleman., who blend classical style with innovation, comfort, and quality to perfectly express one’s personality through fashion.
Johnson, who with partner Wall vogue their original designs on the magazine’s cover, found the entrepreneurship emphasis at the Graziadio School to be inspirational, especially the classes where students generate, finance, and manage their ideas.
“It was powerful to see the passion that the students placed behind their ideas in these courses,” Johnson says in his profile, “and even more so to see the amount of encouragement and support everyone shared.”
RedStateDate.com, BlueStateDate.com founder Alex Fondrier (MBA/MPP ‘12) details starting his business to help singles find their politically-matched mate.
Olens Technology’s Paul McCloskey III (MBA ’11), whose consumer electronic products include Fuser and Renny, tells how a technological roadblock did not deter his entrepreneurial ambitions.
Audra Quinn (MBA ’13), 2013 Pepperdine University Business Plan Competition winner, shares how her game-based startup intends to combine wine tasting and over-the-top wordplay.
Lee Rankinen (MBA ’10) and Justin Malik (MBA ’10) deliver Pixtant, an iOS mobile app that allows users to post and vote on side-by–side photos.
In the feature article “5 Simple Steps to Inventing New Products,” Pepperdine professor Eric Paul Rose (MBA ’96) explains how to move product development from great idea to million dollar success.
Led by Dr. Larry Cox, Pepperdine offers a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in entrepreneurship. The MBA entrepreneurship concentration is built upon courses designed to help tap a student’s creativity, and then translate creative vision into a real business that both produces wealth and allows the entrepreneur to express his or her personal values.
Pepperdine’s Master of Science in Entrepreneurship degree offers a focused curriculum designed to expand creative vision and translate it into a real sustainable business in 20 months. The program gives a solid foundation of business principles; then segues into a series of courses based on “entrepreneurship as creative problem solving.”
