The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) invite young people between the ages of 13 and 36 who want to create, develop and implement a business or social idea to participate in the VI Talent and Innovation Challenges of the Americas (TIC Americas 2012).
TIC Americas Finals will be hosted in Cartagena, Colombia, in April 2012, in parallel of the III Young Americas Forum, previous activities of the VI Summit of the Americas TIC Americas is an international competition that awards projects in two categories:
– Talent and Innovation Awards: social or entrepreneurial projects that demonstrate talent and innovation in their design and/or startup strategy.
– Eco-Challenge Awards: social or entrepreneurial projects that offer a viable solution to an environmental problem, responding to one of the stated Eco-Challenges.
The Eco-Challenge is a joint initiative of YABT and PepsiCo Latin America that aims to provide sustainable and innovative solutions to address environmental problems through two Eco-Challenges: (1) Create an environmental culture through your business idea (2) Solve an environmental issue through your business TIC Americas goes beyond the development and evaluation of business plans to include extended phases of support, mentoring, prototype development, networking and international visibility, among others.
Finalists of previous editions reported that TIC Americas boosted their projects and accelerated the formalizing of their businesses and entry into the real market.
Young entrepreneurs may register their teams of one to ten (10) members until December 15th, 2011. Then, registered teams will have time to prepare their submissions until January 10th, 2012. Prizes include incubation; global recognition, cash awards and access to spaces for international promotion and business contacts.
TIC Americas is a program of the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), an international non-profit organization that works in cooperation with the OAS. YABT supports the objectives of the OAS Member States by creating employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the region. The rules and conditions of TIC Americas can be found online.
